On the 23rd of December 2016, all roads led to Uke in Idemmili North LGA of Anambra state. The event was no other than the installation of high chiefs (Ichie Ukwu) in Uke ancient kingdom. These high chiefs were drawn from the six villages that make up uke which are Ezema-Ubuluenu, Oba, Nkwelle, Umuazu, Omimi and Uruabor. The installation of chiefs usually precedes the high point of the event which is the Ofala celebration of the Igwe of Uke village.
So on the 24th of December, the Igwe of Uke ancient kingdom (Igwe Charles Agbala) celebrated his first Ofala which was attended by the high and mighty from all walks of life. As is well known, Uke kingdom has been in leadership tussle for a quite number of years. As God may have it, his servant in the person of Surveyor Charles Agbala was selected to be the person to lead Uke ancient kingdom. As has been observed and noticed, the current Igwe is a humble, simple nice and god fearing man. This was not th case before in Uke ancient kingdom.
